Find out why Burkhardt Heating and Cooling has been in business for more than half a century. We’ve been delivering air conditioning and heating services to the residents of Waukesha, WI, and the surrounding areas since 1961!
Here are some fixes you can check on your own:
The Temperature Control – This may sound obvious, but if your central air isn’t working, check the thermostat. The thermostat instructs the system, and if it is turned off, it does not affect anything.
A Blown Fuse or Tripped Circuit – The cause of a central air unit not working can sometimes be traced back to its power supply. Check your circuit breaker box to check no tripped circuit or fuse is blown.
The Condensate Pan Switch – The more humid the environment, the more condensate your air conditioner will generate. All of this water drains down the pipes, and the unit’s water detection switch keeps the runoff from causing water damage to your home’s structure. If your central air conditioner isn’t operating, the water detection switch may have been engaged owing to excess moisture someplace.
If basic troubleshooting doesn’t uncover the cause, have a professional HVAC technician run a diagnostic test to determine why your system has stopped working.
